Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in film and TV is well known for movies like Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born as the only child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the showbiz world early and was performing lead roles in various television dramas by the time she turned 16. Following her highly acclaimed performance in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went into other notable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. The film was nominated for an Oscar and received critical and commercial great success. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Alexandra was involved in many notable projects, both nationally as well as internationally. The projects include British biographical films Control and The Dust of Time as in addition to the French historic miniseries Napoleon.
