Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film famous for her performance in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the only child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu Alexandra stepped into showbiz early and landed up playing lead roles in different shows on television by the time she turned 16. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the film made for television Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex and The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films starring this stunning actress. Alexandra has been involved in numerous notable national and international projects over the years. This includes the British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historic miniseries Napoleon and many more. She also remained member of the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
